SALT LAKE CITY, UT. April 28, 2016-- After landing a licensing deal with the U.S. Navy earlier last week, Master Brands, a local Utah manufacturer of company uniforms and safety wear, is launching a new Navy clothing line.

Last week, Master Brands was granted a license to manufacture clothing bearing the logo of the U.S. Navy, an honour awarded to only a handful of companies. The deal is important on many levels, but most notable is the ability to provide products made in the United States for Navy and other military members, a rare occurrence in the uniform manufacture industry.

Trent Brown, CEO of Master Brands, says, “We are very excited about this new clothing line. It is an honour to manufacture clothing for the U.S. Navy as we know that there is demand for USA-made clothing. We are happy to fill that void and we hope that those serving us will feel pride in knowing that some of their clothing is now US-made.”

Master Brands has been in corporate and uniform manufacturing business since 1992. “We are very passionate about manufacturing products in the United States. It just makes sense to us, and to the many people serving our country, that clothing for the U.S. Military is also made here.” Brown hopes this contract with the U.S. Navy will encourage other retailers to seek U.S. products. “Our hope is that more retailers will start seeing the benefits of buying USA-made products,” says Brown.

Manufacturing in the USA is advantageous to both customers and retailers. Buying clothing made in the USA increases customer confidence due to more stringent U.S. quality regulations and guidelines. Retailers benefit from reduced storage needs thanks to shorter turnaround times and smaller minimum purchase quantities.

The new Master Brands military line can be expected later this spring and will include t-shirts, jackets and soft-shell vests, all with the official Navy logo, and all made in the United States.
