Alexander wins the Gold Award for Best Service: Education, Art, & Culture in the Inaugural Anthem Awards. The Webbys' new initiative to recognize social impact work worldwide.

Alexander is the home of original, hour-long, non-fiction stories. Through an international lens, the app gives subscribers access to diverse and transportative stories from across the world.

Named after the ancient Library of Alexandria, the platform features works from international literary luminaries including Marieke Lucas Rijneveld on gender identity, belonging and growing up in virtual worlds; Tsitsi Dangarembga on Zimbabwe, Black Lives Matter and David Livingstone's body; Chigozie Obioma on escaping a catholic "university" in Nigeria; and physicist Carlo Rovelli on hunting with the Hadza people of Tanzania.

Stories are beautifully narrated by actors including Jessie Buckley, Helena Bonham Carter, Thuso Mbedu, Emma Corrin, Bill Nighy, David Oyelowo and John Malkovich. Every two weeks, subscribers can listen, read and watch a new feature, available exclusively on the Alexander app.

The latest feature, releasing soon, by Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Michael Rezendes, narrated by Christina Ricci, probes deep into the hushed-up world of priests and their children, exploring the devastating effects of this open secret--and telling the story of a woman who fought against her family's lies to establish her own truth.

Cameron Lamb, Founder and CEO of Alexander said “To be recognized as a finalist for social impact in education, art and culture by the Anthem Awards is truly humbling. Alexander’s mission is to share transportive stories that give real access to unexplored subjects and places. Through our work with talented writers and narrators from across the world, we aim to provide perspective, knowledge and a lens on others.”

The Anthem Awards was launched in response to the prevalence social good has taken within the national conversation and cultural zeitgeist in recent years. By amplifying the voices that spark global change, the Anthem Awards are defining a new benchmark for impactful work that inspires others to take action in their communities.

Jessica Lauretti, Managing Director, The Anthem Awards gave the following statement “Alexander has set the standard for excellence for the Impact Industry.
