Naomi Akira will advise and support Merit Venture Capital’s Japanese client base and oversee all investment transactions in Japan as the firm continues to expand its presence in the country.

Prior to joining Merit Venture Capital, Ms. Akira spent 7 years at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in Hong Kong and before that, she spent a brief time in London and Zurich before returning back to Asia where she has held various leadership roles within several Investment Banking institutions.

Naomi Akira began her career at Mizuho Bank where she started off in their Securities Division. She then joined Japan Post Bank and held senior leadership positions and also played a part in Japan Post Bank’s successful IPO.
