WILDOMAR, CA –Summer fitness has gone to the dogs...and...cats at Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV). The animal shelter will host fitness enthusiasts and animal lovers alike at their “Ohm Sweet Ohm” Summer Fitness Series this June through August. Participants have a choice of three different classes: “Purrrlates” Kitty Mat Pilates on Saturday, June 15, “Nama-STAY” Dog Yoga on Saturday, July 13, or “Kitty Karma” Kitten Yoga on Saturday, August 10 which will be taught by certified group fitness instructors from from Sweat Cardio and Yoga Temecula. Classes are $25 admission per class or participants can purchase a “Pawsport” for $60 all three classes. For tickets or more information, visit https://animalfriendsofthevalleys.com/ohmsweetohm/.

Classes begin at 9:00am and include 50 minutes of beginning yoga or Pilates instruction, as well as plenty of time interacting with select kittens and dogs. These are also adoption events meaning participants who fall in love with their furry mat-mate can go right into the shelter lobby after class and adopt their new BFF!

“These classes are a great way for local residents to work on their summer exercise goals and for our adoptable pets to have some fun socialization and mental stimulation in a new and different environment,” said Beth Soltysiak, Director of Development at Animal Friends of the Valleys, “We started working with Sweat [Cardio and Yoga Temecula] last year, and the response was so overwhelming, we wanted to try some new classes while raising funds and getting some exposure for our adoptable pets."

Class fees for the Fitness Series are a direct donation to Animal Friends of the Valleys, the sole animal shelter serving the six (6) Southwest Riverside cities of Canyon Lake, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Murrieta, Temecula and Wildomar. Animal Friends of the Valleys is dedicated to promoting the humane care of all animals through education and a pro-active rescue, health and emergency services program. During the past year, we opened our doors to more than 12,000 animals, and were recently we honored as "Charitable Organization of the Year" by both the Lake Elsinore and Temecula Chambers of Commerce for our leadership and dedication to service within the region.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Animal Friends of the Valleys depends on tax-deductible donations from the community to achieve our ultimate mission: ending pet overpopulation and find loving, furever homes for every adoptable animal in our care.
