My Money Workshop Names New Executive Director

My Money Workshop, Inc., a financial literacy organization serving New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut since 2009, has named Johann DeJesus-Cortes as its new Executive Director.

 
My Money Workshop, Inc. (MMW), a financial literacy organization serving New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut since 2009, has named Johann DeJesus-Cortes as its new Executive Director. Johann’s employment with MMW will commence in early January 2023.

“Johann is the right leader for MMW,” said Co-President Robert Yaffa. “Johann brings a wealth of management and program experience from nonprofit organizations she has worked for in the past that will be of benefit to MMW.”

“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead My Money Workshop, Inc. I look forward to bringing the organization to the next level, expanding MMW’s cost-effective signature Foundation of Financial Success program to serve more public schools, colleges, and community-based organizations in underserved communities,” Johann said.

She has more than 25 years of senior management experience in workforce development, youth development, adult education, and early childhood programs. Johann currently serves as the Executive Director of La Peninsula Community Organization in the South Bronx. Prior to this, she was the Senior Vice President of Programs and Operations at the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation. From 2008 to 2012, she was the Chief Program Officer at the Grand Street Settlement.

MMW’s Board of Directors also wants to thank Dr. Ramona Thomas for serving as Interim Executive Director.
