The CEO of an online resource site dedicated to green jobs said he’s pleased to see more resources going towards sustainable development.

As four US non-profit organizations are poised to receive $1 million in funding each after being named winners in a TD Bank sustainability competition, the CEO of an online resource site dedicated to green jobs said he’s pleased to see more resources going towards sustainable development.

“These added resources come at a crucial time as the message of climate change is leading to tangible efforts to adopt more sustainable business practices,” said Joseph Boll, EcoCareers.org CEO. “We’re delighted to see major corporations take up the mantle of helping green nonprofits succeed in and expand the green sector overall, as this kind of collective movement will gradually help to shift the entire economy.”

EcoCareers.org is an online jobs board and resource website for all jobs in sustainability, whether traditional green jobs like solar panel technicians or environmental scientists to jobs in industries that are newer to sustainability, like fashion and manufacturing. EcoCareers.org seeks to connect employers, hiring managers and HR personnel in the green sector with jobseekers and the top talent in their respective industries.

Boll was referring to the 2022 TD Ready Challenge, with the winners just recently being revealed. Six groups from Canada and four from the USA were selected as winners, and will each receive $1 million from TD Bank to help them achieve specific goals designed to address climate change and help to expand the green economy in their respective communities. In the US, the four winners will execute programs in New England, New York and New Jersey, with three of the NPOs specifically focusing on ways to scale and improve the sustainable jobs workforce.

This comes as green jobs have been experiencing a significant boost in recent years, although businesses in the US and UK have reportedly struggled to find adequately skilled workers to keep up with the job vacancies. As such, initiatives that will help develop the workforce while continuing to expand jobs, Boll said, are most welcome and will make a noticeable difference once they successfully come into play.

The CEO commented, “Congratulations to all of the 2022 TD Ready Challenge winners! The world is counting on you and looking forward to your success!”
