Yesterday on the occasion of Kangana Ranaut’s birthday, her new film trailer was launched. The title of the film is Thalaivi, and it is a biopic of actor turned politician Jayalalithaa. Shee also received a special birthday gift in the form of a national award for best actress for Panga and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (Hindi) on Monday.
The upcoming film has been directed by Vijay and will be theatrically making its opening on 23rd of April. The film’s trailer elaborates the story of Jaya, a popular queen of romance in the South Indian film industry. It then documents her association with MGR that paved her political entry and her way to becoming the chief minister of Tamil Nadu.
The film also features actors like Arvind Swamy as MGR, and the rest of the cast includes Nassar, Bhagyashree, Samuthrakani and Madhu Bala. The narrative of the biopic is penned by Baahubali fame writer KV Vijayendra Prasad and the much talented Madhan Karky. The music of the Kangana Ranaut starrer film is composed by G.V Prakash.
The Bollywood movie is proper documentation of the life tale of the late honorable chief minister of Tamil Nadu – Jayalalithaa. The narrative of the biopic is the transitions and roller coaster ride of then film star who turned into a huge name in politics. The acting skill and the body language of Thalaivi are beautifully translated on screen by Kangana Ranaut. It also marks her return to Tamil cinema after a huge leap of 12 years. She worked in Dhoom Dhoom, 2008 with Jayam Ravi.
After watching the trailer, fans are full of praises for the acting skills shown by the actress. Some have also mentioned that the Parliament’s scene is so intense that she might just get 5th time lucky is bagging the national award for this film as well.
