All aspects of eyelid, lacrimal and orbital disease are covered. It is enlightening to be part of a large multidisciplinary team including dermatologists and maxillofacial surgeons. This affords me the opportunity to deliver the best quality of care, patient experience, outcomes and safety to every single one of my patients.”
Pari Shams is a renowned London-based reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid surgeon performing Blepharoplasty procedures for cosmetic and functional purposes.

During an upper blepharoplasty or upper eyelid lift, Pari Shams will mark the facial area with meticulous precision, indicating the areas where the excess fat and skin should be removed.
An unobtrusive incision is made along the eyelid crease, for the removal of excess skin, fat or muscle. When the incision is closed with sutures to assist with the rapid healing process after the procedure, the scar is almost invisible, falling beautifully into the natural fold of the eyelid.
For a lower eyelid Blepharoplasty, Pari Shams makes a small incision inside the lower eyelid or below the lashes. Fat is removed or repositioned, depending on the outcome preferred. Support for the muscles and tendons can be inserted before the incision is sealed with a surgical strip. Lower Blepharoplasty focuses on the area between the eyelashes and the cheek.

The procedure is performed while the patient is under local or general anaesthetic, depending on the length of the procedure which can range between 45 minutes and two and a half hours. The relatively safe procedure is simple and predictable and is done frequently. It is able to resolve any temporary side effects with paracetamol.

Blepharoplasty performed by highly skilled surgeons such as Pari Shams will always result in a desirable aesthetic outcome, leaving the patient with a rejuvenated and refreshed look.
