[NEWARK, NJ] – Jan. 13, 2023 – Pillar College is pleased to announce our inclusion as a 2022-2023 Top Performer on Social Mobility in National Liberal Arts Colleges, by U.S. News & World Report. Now in its 38th year, the rankings evaluate more than 1,450 colleges and universities on up to 17 measures of academic quality. Pillar College ranked No. 70 on this prestigious list.

The Top Performers on Social Mobility ranking recognizes colleges with a high success rate of enrolling and graduating extensive proportions of under-resourced students with Pell Grants. This is a testament to the dedication Pillar College has to providing Christ-centered higher education for all who are called to scholarship, service and leadership.

“As the only Christ-centered, Bible-based College in the State of New Jersey, we are committed to providing a practical education, in a personalized environment, to equip our students for the real world,” says Rupert A. Hayles, Jr., PhD, President of Pillar College.

In addition, Pillar College was the highest ranked college in New Jersey in Economic Diversity in the Liberal Arts category, and one of the top 10 in the nation. Offering flexible schedules across multiple locations in New Jersey and online is one way Pillar College’s programming serves such a diverse student population, many of whom work while attending college.

Pillar College is known for its innovative college retention programs, including:
- Life Enhancing Accelerated Degree (LEAD) Program
- Dual Enrollment Education Degree (DEED)
- Programa BLEND (Bi-Lingual Entry Degree)
- B.E.S.T. (Black Elementary School Teachers) for Men Program
