Company History

Marina Yusupova and Gabriel Sezanayev are the founders of Piñaq Liqueur. They owned a pharmacy in Brooklyn, NY for 9 years before jumping into the alcohol and spirit industry. Marina left her trade as a pharmacist to focus on this exciting new venture.



They started Prestige Royal Liquors and released Three Kilos Vodka, an ultra premium vodka that has a gold bar shape. Marina and her husband Gabriel came up with the concept for their next brand, Piñaq while vacationing in St. Barths sipping a tropical cocktail out of a carved out pineapple. They noticed no liqueur is in the shape of a pineapple and called an attorney to patent a pineapple shaped bottle design.



They wanted to create a unique shaped bottle that would make their liqueur standout that was bright, colorful, and fun. The name Piñaq comes from the pineapple shape and cognac base and is pronounced peen-yak.


It took three years to develop the formula, until it was ready for market. Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, the largest distributor of wine and spirits in the United States, loved the idea and helped put Piñaq on the path to success.
