Annemieke Woodbridge, founder of Young Author Academy and Giavanna Eelen, author of Ellie’s Mysterious Garden made their first appearance on The Matrix Green Pill Podcast, Episode 63.

Australian but adopted by the UAE about fifteen years ago, Annemieke (Mieke) Woodbridge is the founder of Young Author Academy, which helps young writers have the chance to become published authors and have their books available on the global Amazon Store. With the academy, she tries to instil the love of writings of all ages, focusing on children through different workshops and writing courses. She is an author herself of Reference Books and children’s books and has published numerous Young Authors, including her own two children’s books.

Giavanna Eelen is a nine-year-old Belgian-American young author born and raised in Dubai, who in her spare time loves to play outdoors, ride her bike, and enjoy playing the piano and the drum after school. She also loves to read and write. Giavanna published her very first book “Ellie’s Mysterious Garden” with the help of Annemieke and the Young Author Academy.

In this episode, Shirin talked with Mieke and Giavanna about how they started their journey into writing, how Mieke got into the idea of Young Author Academy and what inspires Giavanna every time she takes a pencil in her hand. She also shared some valuable tips to all the little aspiring writers out there.

During the podcast, Annemieke shared with us some helpful advice for parents who would like to encourage their kids to read “Find a book that you love even if it’s a comic. Get them to just fall in love with the actual process of reading”. And Giavanna told us that “I can’t stop writing”.
