GEECL has engraved its name in the industry through its foray in the CBM field in India. Led by Mr. Prashant Modi, the firm has drilled 150 production wells at its Raniganj (South) block. While monetising natural gas from coal seams, Great Eastern Energy Corporation Limited has also initiated Corporate Social Responsibility activities that have the greatest impact on the lives of local people and environment.

Under the leadership of Mr. Prashant Modi, Great Eastern has contributed towards improving the environment in this area through substitution of polluting fuels with the use of clean energy. The leadingIndian CBM company has also sponsored a number of medical camps, blood donation camps, sporting activities, and community health initiatives in the region for its employees and locals in various villages.
