Campaign Manager For Shreveport Mayoral Candidate Melvin Slack Resigns, Citing Unprofessionalism and Breach of Contract

De Bouse says "Slack has "taken this "Gangster Mentality/Keep it in the Streets" premise too far…To my knowledge, even gangsters are organized and business oriented. You, however, are not."

Campaign manager for Shreveport, LA mayoral candidate Melvin Slack has resigned. At approximately 12 am on Thursday, August 11, 2022, Renowned Global Activist, Republican Greshun De Bouse sent her resignation letter to Slack via email, in which she cited unprofessionalism and breach of contract by Slack among other things.

The resignation letter from De Bouse to Slack states in part that Slack

"…secured my professional campaign management services, and got me to accept your job offer of campaign manager under false pretenses wherein you absolutely misrepresented your social and financial status and connections. Such misrepresentation or blatant untruths have directly adversely affected my ability to perform my job duties efficaciously. I would not have accepted the job had I been aware of this prior to acceptance.

Slack made local news at the most recent mayoral campaign held in late July in Shreveport, LA for his response to how he would reduce crime or gun violence in Shreveport, LA. Slack stated in part "...Shreveport is a gangster city, and if you don't have someone with gangster-type leadership, you're not gonna stop this crime." But in her resignation letter, Global Activist De Bouse states Slack has "taken this "Gangster Mentality/Keep it in the
Streets" premise too far…To my knowledge, even gangsters are organized and business oriented. You, however, are not." De Bouse went on to say, "I am established in my
own right, and I deserve respect for my contributions to society-not to be retaliated against
because I refuse to allow you to call me at 3:00 am when you are on your way to a hotel…"

You may recall Global Activist and Republican Greshun De Bouse is the founder of Disabled Veteran's Day, and made history in 2019 as the only American of Color seen in then President Donald Trump's VIP section at his Tupelo, MS MAGA Rally. This was just after De Bouse received a mayoral proclamation at Tupelo City Hall for Disabled Veteran's Day from then Tupelo Mayor Jason Shelton-among the numerous other mayors and governors who did so.

In addition, De Bouse has been working for the past four years on effective strategies to stop gun violence in Shreveport, LA and abroad, and founded National Doe B Day-honoring T.I./Hustle Gang-affiliated rapper Doe B who was fatally shot at an Alabama night club-after the rapper's mother asked her to do so. Relatively, De Bouse founded the #CLEANUPCRIMEINITIATIVE which "seeks to identify and improve deficiencies in the Shreveport R.T.C.C. in an effort to further improve law enforcement response times to in-progress crimes, mandate background checks for gun purchases, even for private sellers at gun shows, and more, all to curb crime in Shreveport," according to a news article on the initiative published earlier this year. Activist De Bouse believes in equality and advocates for underserved populations. She believes Slack did not extend equality to her.
