Ashley Turner Doyle is currently working on a collection of children’s poems entitled “The Beauty of Color”. She has also traveled to Mumbai and was instantly curious about the men who were balancing crates over their heads that carried lunch pails. Doyle knew then that she would be doing her next major piece on Mumbai’s dabbawala culture. Throughout the years, she gained a reputation for her exemplary work that earned her a spot on favored media sources such as the Lonely Planet books and The Discovery Channel.

Ashley Turner Doyle has had fulfilling experiences with her work as a travel journalist, photographer and videographer. As a South Carolina native, she has spent years traveling to areas such as the Middle East, Africa and Asia to explore cultures and wildlife, capturing all of her most fascinating moments on print or film. Children became the subjects of many of her works in photojournalism, and she had once worked as a judge for a children’s writing contest that was put on by PBS Kids GO! It wasn’t until recently that she has decided to also expand on that interest, and start writing children’s poetry. Doyle is a 2013 Violet Reed Haas prize winner for poetry; and as already built anticipation for her upcoming release by showing off her poetry skills.

All throughout her work, Ashley Turner Doyle has always favored the subject of children and had served as a positive role model and source of inspiration for many of the children she encountered while overseas.

Ashley Turner Doyle was first assigned to Africa and the Middle East, where she first got her beginnings as a published travel journalist. Now she is in talks with Dutton Children’s Books about releasing the book, thanks to the help of her outstanding representation at Folio Literary Management in NYC. She is currently focused on releasing a children’s poetry book through Dutton Children’s Books that will be titled “The Beauty of Color”. She then decided to further her travels and embrace her fascination with Indian culture. She is confident that in time her abilities to narrate children’s books will grow, along with her fan base and footing in the industry and niche.
