Much can be said about being in the music industry as a producer and also as an artist. It takes a great deal of patience and hard work, and many times that doesn’t pay off for quite some time. There happens to be a very common occurrence in a musical career where a musician or a producer can find themselves being extremely challenged both mentally and financially. It is at that point where the decision needs to be made to continue in the music industry or to evolve or move on. Those that move on usually reflect on music as a pastime but those that continue and evolve find themselves a great deal of success later on.
There are moments where situations can be a bit extreme, such is the story of Butch Walker and his wife Nora. Both have gone through some hardships together and have overcome the hardships. In particular they did have what would be the toughest challenge in their personal lives. In 2007 they lost all their possessions because of a fire in the Malibu which burned their house down. But Walker has always been accustomed to going on and making the most of every opportunity. This is the groundwork of his motivation and commitment which is spanned a career of over 25 years. A career that started off when he left Georgia at a very young age, found himself in a rock band called South Gang touring through Asia after relocating the band to Los Angeles. Tough times were had and eventually they broke up. He chases sound a bit and took on the responsibility of putting the band Marvelous 3 together and had some success, but again there was just not enough interest from record labels to continue.
By 2002 there is new beginnings for Butch Walker and his wife Nora, there were solo tracks and albums being recorded which had put him into a more direct path success as a producer as well. By 2009 he had collaborated with many artists and his career was starting to explode like never before. In 2015, he had released his masterpiece record which would be his seventh as a solo artist “Afraid of Ghosts” which received many great reviews.
