Jason Van Der Slot wishes to announce that he is heavily involved in Junior Sailing and that he intends on helping the next generation of sailors out onto the water. He says, “Ever since I was a young boy, I’ve always enjoyed sailing. My family was comprised of sailing enthusiasts and they passed their passion on to me. I always loved the feeling of the wind on my face and the smell of the open ocean. Now that I am an adult, I wish to pass on the passion for sailing on to a new generation of sailors.”

If anyone is qualified enough to teach kids how to sail, it is Jason Van Der Slot. He has been around sailboats his entire life. He knows everything there is to know about the subject. When he was young, he began learning all of the details and information that is necessary to be a competent yachtsman. He learned about the mechanics of sailboats. He also learned about how they function on the open sea. Additionally, Jason Van Der Slot studied the physics of sailing, including how waves actually work. This helped him to master the art of sailing. It also imbued him with a passion for sailing that he takes with him even today.

Jason Van Der Slot is an important member of the sailing community in Australia. He is one of the founding members of the Australian TP52 Association. This organization was created for Transpac 52 class yacht enthusiasts who currently or have formerly owned a TP52 yacht. While they are celebrated yachtsmen, they do not formerly participate in Class Events. However, they are able to help promote TP52 racing by forming fleets or classes of their own. Jason Van Der Slot is also the founder of the TP52 Southern Cross Cup, a sailboat race that he organized. Many sailors are supportive of this race as it is helping to change the face of sailboat racing. By now, it is clear the Jason Van Der Slot has a passion for yacht sailing. It should also be clear that he is most qualified in leading the next generation of sailors onto the sea.
