Jayne Lessard, counselor, has spent over two decades in private practice, focused on marriage and family counseling. She supports those in ministry and provides students with guidance.

Jayne Lessard, counselor, has already led a long and successful career with over 32 years of counseling experience. Over 24 of those years were completed in private practice. Jayne Lessard, counselor, moved into private practice in 1989, after leaving High Point Family Service Agency. Jayne Lessard’s goal was to focus on marriage and family counseling in a private practice setting.
For over thirty years, Jayne Lessard, counselor, has supported her community in numerous ways. She helps out frequently with community events and helps and supports individuals dedicated to ministry. In the past, Jayne Lessard, counselor, performed ministry work and has a background in ministry and outdoor leadership. “I used to organize outdoor adventure trips into Canada, British Columbia, and North Carolina,” says Jayne Lessard, counselor. “I found this to be a great way to reach those you might not reach in a traditional setting. It taught me so much about leadership, teamwork and the importance of risk-taking.

The desire to support ministries never left Jayne Lessard, counselor. She uses her skills as a counselor to provide quality services to missionaries who are often working in very isolated, hard to reach locals. “I believe it is important to support those who labor in the ministry,” states Jayne Lessard. “They are often out there on their own, dealing with great challenges and I feel they deserve to be supported and nurtured.”

To become a counselor, Jayne Lessard had to complete an undergraduate degree, a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and then take a test to become licensed. She is licensed with the North Carolina Board of Licensed Practicing Counselors and is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, the American Association of Christian Counselors, and the Christian Coaches Network.

With two children of her own, Jayne Lessard, counselor recognized that not every child was prepared to find their direction upon graduation from high school. “Like many professionals I know how critically important a good education is,” notes Jayne Lessard. “Many students graduate with no real sense of direction and very little understandings of their own strengths and gifts as an individual,”

Jayne Lessard decided to help her local community by working with high school and college students to aid them in discovering their personal gifts and aptitudes. Jayne Lessard seeks to find what motivates each student so when they attend college they will be motivated to get the most out of their education. “I help young people find the major or career that best fits their gifts and interests,” notes Jayne Lessard. “This helps them find their own direction and move toward a field of study and ultimately a career that best suits them.”
