The Galbut Family Miami Beach JCC held a Celebrity Poker Tournament and VIP reception at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Poker Room. Miami Heat legend Alonzo Mourning and current NBA Star and future Hall of Famer Dwayne Wade were the premier celebrity guests of the evening. Also in attendance was President of Wade’s World Foundation, Tragil Wade, and Overtown Youth Center President, Bill Diggs. Accompanying the celebrities were the Miami Heat dancers and local community leaders Jerry Jacobs, Michael Simkins, Daniel Fisher, and Mark Lehman.

The tournament started with sixteen players until six competitors were left after long grueling hours. In the end, Mark Lehman came in first, with Michael Simkins in a close second, and Daniel Fisher in third. The winner went home with a nice cash prize and the local foundations with representatives in attendance came back with the benefits produced from the event. In addition to going home with proceeds from the tournament, the foundations also were able to receive valuable exposure and one on one time with local businessmen and women, like Jerry Jacobs who was born and raised in Miami FL.
