Kurtis Gubnitsky Elected Member of Inaugural Lacrosse Season

Kurtis Gubnitsky plays in the inaugural lacrosse season at the University School of NSU.

 
Kurtis Gubnitsky is a high school athlete who has excelled at many different sports. One sport that Kurtis Gubnitsky participated in at the University School of Nova Southeastern University was lacrosse. Kurtis Gubnitsky was selected to play on the lacrosse team during the inaugural season at the University School of NSU. In addition, Kurtis Gubnitsky received a certificate of completion for his participation in the high school lacrosse program. Kurtis Gubnitsky continued playing lacrosse in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades.

Discussing his high school lacrosse career, Kurtis Gubnitsky stated, “I really enjoyed playing lacrosse, but what I valued even more was the opportunity to teach lacrosse to younger students at the University School.” Indeed, Kurtis Gubnitsky volunteered as a lacrosse instructor in the 10th grade. Kurtis Gubnitsky taught lacrosse to younger students in both the lower and middle schools at the University School of NSU. Teaching lacrosse to the younger students enabled him to both have fun playing a sport that he loves and feel good about himself for working with his peers.

Kurtis Gubnitsky has always enjoyed both playing sports and volunteering with children. Starting in kindergarten, Kurtis Gubnitsky began playing soccer on the Cooper City soccer team. Kurtis Gubnitsky continued playing soccer with them until the 9th grade. During high school, Kurtis Gubnitsky played on the junior varsity soccer team, the varsity track and field and cross country teams, and the football team during their inaugural season. Kurtis Gubnitsky has also participated in basketball and flag football.

When it comes to working with children, Kurtis Gubnitsky has not only acted as a lacrosse coach but also as a volunteer with local charities and doing community service. Kurtis Gubnitsky participated in the Invisible Children charity in both the 11th and 12th grades. In addition, Kurtis Gubnitsky took part in Kids in Distress in the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. Kurtis Gubnitsky also volunteered at the Children’s Home Society in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. There, Kurtis Gubnitsky both served meals and distributed supplies to families in need. Kurtis Gubnitsky has always valued both athletic programs and community service.
