Those who know Matthew Nemeth of State College often acknowledge him as an individual who is dedicated to helping others. Matthew Nemeth of State College is a senior at Penn State University who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a focus on Accounting and Real Estate Capital Markets. Throughout his time in college, Matthew Nemeth of State College wanted to find a way to positively make a difference in the lives of others—and he succeeded.

In February 2013, Matthew Nemeth of State College started the PSU Parkinson’s Foundation. As the President and founder of the organization, Matthew Nemeth of State College is in charge of raising awareness for the disease around his local community. Also, Matthew Nemeth of State College helps raise funds for Parkinson’s research at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

As the one-year anniversary of the organization approaches, Matthew Nemeth of State College spoke out about the organization’s achievements and future goals, he stated, “I am honored to serve as the President of such an impactful organization. I started the PSU Parkinson’s Foundation because I know individuals who have personally struggled with this disease. I know I cannot change the world, but I believe I can still make a difference—which is what keeps me motivated. In the future, I hope that the organization will continue to expand and raise additional funds for research. It is so great that students are coming together to help fund research at our university’s medical center. We are a team that is working together to make a difference.”

As a graduating senior, Matthew Nemeth of State College will step down as President and hand his title to a new student for the 2014 school year. “I am sad to leave Penn State University and this organization behind, but I will still be involved. I know whoever gets appointed as the new President will continue doing great things with the organization. Our entire team is instilled with passion and motivation to do more, which is more than I could have hoped for when I founded the organization,” Matthew Nemeth of State College stated.
