Neil Godbole Uses Business Skills as Studio Operator

Neil Godbole has years of experience working in business and finance and now applies those skills in the music production industry. He celebrates a successful year and a half as owner of his own music studio.

Neil Godbole is not the first working professional to try a number of different fields of work. While Neil Godbole is a man in his early thirties, he has worked numerous professional positions providing him with the skill and know-how to be a working professional.

Neil Godbole specialized in computing while he attended the University of California in Los Angeles; as owner and producer of Airship Laboratories, the skills and concepts of computer automation and integration have served him well. For a year, Neil Godbole worked as a software analyst at Calypso Technology in San Francisco. “It was a privately-held company and my duty was to analyze, test and research the use of the Calypso trading software,” recalls Neil Godbole.

After leaving the company in 2005, Neil Godbole created a company he operated for nearly five years. This was his first real taste of operating his own business. “The many years I spent running my own business helped prepare me for the hours I would spend creating my own music studio,” says Neil Godbole.

After another half-decade working as an investment manager, Neil Godbole became a studio operator in Studio D at Hyde Street Studios. “It was great to get space at Hyde Street. Located in San Francisco, I produced and recorded music for various artists and for myself. I was also able to establish quite a few contacts during my residency. After working at Hyde Street Studios for a year and a half, I created my own studio,” says Neil Godbole.

With previous experience running his own business and the knowledge required to operate a recording studio, Neil Godbole became the owner and producer of Airship Laboratories in November of 2011. Formerly known as Bayview Studios, Neil Godbole specializes in media production services and the customization of his facilities to suit his clients’ needs.

Neil Godbole’s Airship Laboratories was where Cosmic Machine’s October 2012 album “There and Back Again” was recorded and mixed, among others. While his history in music may seem short, a new composer and producer Jonathan Peter Grellas has used Neil Godbole for collaboration and consultation services. Neil Godbole is confident his music studio will grow in popularity; he offers audio and media production services in addition to a beautiful studio with an 1100 square foot live room and high ceilings.
