Kamil Idris WIPO has worked in several different capacities for many different companies, which has often involved global travel. After graduating from college and earning several different degrees, Kamil Idris WIPO started his professional career. Kamil Idris WIPO started his professional career working part time as a journalist for El-Ayam and El-Sahafa newspapers, which are both based in Sudan. Kamil Idris WIPO worked as a journalist from 1971 until 1979. During this time, Kamil Idris WIPO also lectured students at the University of Cairo in Egypt. Among his many impressive past positions, Kamil Idris WIPO has also worked as an Assistant Director for the Arab Department for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Khartoum. Also in Khartoum, Kamil Idris WIPO worked as the Assistant Director of the Research and legal departments respectively. Kamil Idris is the co-chair of Sudan's Commission for the Defense of Human rights, Fundamental rights and Freedoms.

From 1979 until 1982 Kamil Idris WIPO worked as the Vice Consul of Sudan in Switzerland. Kamil Idris WIPO has even previously been a member of the Sudan Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland. Kamil Idris WIPO is very proud of all of his professional accomplishments, as most people would be. Kamil Idris WIPO has even worked as the Legal Advisor of Sudan Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office in Geneva, between 1979 and 1982.

More recently, Kamil Idris WIPO was honored with a position as the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization. Kamil Idris WIPO has also worked as the Secretary General of the International Union for the Protection of Plant Varieties, which is also known as UPOV.

In addition to holding several different positions over the course of his professional career, Kamil Idris WIPO has also been a member of several councils, boards and organizations. Kamil Idris WIPO is a member of the Board of Trustees of Nile Valley University, which is located in Egypt. Kamil Idris WIPO has also been a member of the United Nations International Law Commission.
