Tracy Kinnan Pisciotta talks about fad diets, and what she believes the solution is to a healthy lifestyle.

Tracy Kinnan Pisciotta is a fitness and health enthusiast. As an avid runner, Tracy Kinnan Pisciotta is aware that a proper diet is crucial to appropriately fuel your body for athletics. Although Tracy Kinnan Pisciotta has mastered a diet plan that works for her, she has noticed that many people are falling victim to various fad diets that are sweeping our nation. Tracy Kinnan Pisciotta warns that although many diet plans offer extensive promises that seem hopeful, they are not the answer to implementing a healthy lifestyle.

Tracy Kinnan Pisciotta hopes that more individuals will look for diets that integrate a balance of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats into their meal plans. Tracy Kinnan Pisciotta stated, “I find it really upsetting that many companies and individuals are releasing these fad diets that promise to help people lose weight fast. I feel like they are taking advantage of a vulnerable society that needs help. I have also struggled with finding a balanced diet regimen; however, once you find what works for you—it is easy to stay on track! Although you may see fast results from these fad diets, it is not something that will last forever. If you give up carbs, do you plan on never eating a carb again? It is not realistic to eliminate foods in your diet that you could not eliminate for the rest of your life. Once you start eating them again, you will gain the weight right back!”

Another lie that Tracy Kinnan Pisciotta believes dieters have fallen victim to is the idea that counting calories is the best way to lose weight. “Many diet plans will simply focus on counting calories, but will not take any macronutrients into consideration. It is important that people get the adequate amounts of proteins, fats, and carbs each day to fuel their bodies appropriately. An avocado has the same amount of fat as a piece of cake—if not more! Obviously an avocado and a piece of cake vary greatly on a health scale, so why should they be counted equally?” Tracy Kinnan Pisciotta stated.

Tracy Kinnan Pisciotta hopes more people will implement a balanced diet. If you want more information on how to make a safe and healthy lifestyle change, contact a local nutritionist.
