Catharine Hardyman is a distinguished student and athlete at her high school in Daphne, AL. She discusses her high school career and how she balances school with athletics and extracurricular activities.

High school is a hectic time for all students. Teenagers are forced to balance school, homework, athletics, and extracurricular activities. Although many students struggle to find a healthy balance and excel in all areas of their lives, Catharine Hardyman has achieved both academic and extracurricular success. Catharine Hardyman is aware that high school is difficult, but she wants to let other students know that they can succeed at anything through hard work and perseverance.

Catharine Hardyman is recognized as a leader throughout her high school both in and out of the classroom. Teachers always acknowledge that Catharine Hardyman goes over and beyond on all assignments. Even though it seems like Catharine Hardyman has plenty of time to dedicate to the books, she is often busy at swim practice. Catharine Hardyman is also a student athlete and is the captain of her high school’s swim team.

With all of Catharine Hardyman’s obligations, it would seem like she is spreading herself too thin, but that is not the case at all. Catharine Hardyman recently discussed how she manages her time and excels both in the classroom and in the pool, she stated, “I believe it is important that all high school students find a way to manage their time accordingly. I know it is difficult to focus on academics when you are a student athlete, but it is definitely possible. I always keep my end goal in mind, which is to make it into college and swim competitively. Thinking of the future always motivates me to do my best. Sure, sometimes I get tired, but it is important to always keep striving for success.”

In addition to school and swimming, Catharine Hardyman is also a member of the Community Action Board and the Youth Grant Allocation Board. Serving as a positive influence is exceedingly important to Catharine Hardyman, and she recently became a Daphne High School Senior Mentor. In the future, Catharine Hardyman hopes to become a United States Certified Swim Coach so she can help other students excel in and out of the pool. “I am excited to see what my future holds after high school and I hope my hard work pays off,” Catharine Hardyman stated.
