Michael Wiles spent years acting onstage in San Francisco as a part of the city’s vibrant live theater scene. Wiles has worked with some of the best in the industry over the years, and recently, he may have gotten his big break. Michael Wiles has been selected to be a featured actor on the nationally televised Foster’s Beer campaign. Not long after he successfully became the face of Foster’s, Wiles also was featured on the nationally televised Yahoo! Sports advertising campaign.
Wiles says that this recent run of success didn’t come easy. He had to work his way up the ladder just for the opportunity like everyone else. He says that he hopes that these advertising campaigns will be a stepping stone to more work and more fame in the future.
Michael Wiles was born and raised in Helena, Montana. After high school, he moved to Seattle to earn his BFA in acting from the Cornish College of the Arts. After he had hung around the theater scene in Seattle for a few years, he moved south to San Francisco, where he began his acting career in earnest. After earning a reputation as a terrific onstage actor, particularly in Shakespearian plays, Wiles earned a cameo appearance as a stock broker in the 2006 film The Pursuit of Happyness starring Will Smith.
Michael Wiles now lives in Sacramento, where he works as a casting director and musical director for a theater company there. He says that he always wanted to be an actor, even in elementary school, and it’s a gift to be able to live his dreams. His recent success is the result of years of hard work and dedication to his art. He has drawn inspiration from many great actors and playwrights along the way, and he says he couldn’t have done it without them.
