William Acker of Miami University has long been in search for the degree that will jumpstart his career. He began his quest of higher academia in Miami Community College, where he displayed his scholarly prowess in his pursuit of an associate’s degree in history. Upon graduating, he learned how limiting his degree actually was, and decided that he would re-enter college immediately. Except this time it was at a four year institution, in pursuit of a four year degree.

His admission into Miami University was a total turnaround moment in William Acker’s life. He had suddenly been immersed into a field that he had little familiarity with other than a couple years experience working part-time in sales for a telecommunications company. His next big move was to an auto parts distributor right near Miami University, which allowed William the opportunity to advance his business skills both in and out of the classroom.

Business school was a whole new challenge in its own for William Acker Miami University. Class work and homework kept him well occupied; however his involvement with study groups and extra credit activities is what really helped boost his grades throughout the toughest periods of enrollment. William had always displayed the drive to succeed, and his classmates fed off his enthusiasm for academics. This helped both he and others be successful in their school performances, serving as another testament to William’s ability to better the lives of those around him.

Meanwhile, his business skills improved greatly at his job at the auto parts distributor. He had learned a way to leverage the research abilities he gained when pursuing his history degree, and applied it to his devotion to learning the pros and cons of every single product. He also would randomly drop Civil War references and whatnot to his customers, which would both make them laugh as well as share with them a glimpse into William’s dynamic personality.

Now that he has received his business degree around the same time he has become the top salesman at his work, William Acker is now looking into ways to form a business of his own over the next five years.
