The first Lowestoft Film festival has been thrown into doubt after a controversial decision to ban a film about Gender. The film has been dropped from the Official programme a week before the screening. The film “She He It “ by multi award winning filmmaker Tony Hickson has picked up 16 awards Worldwide on the Festival circuit since its debut in April.
Tony said “ I found out in a e mail that the screening was not going ahead with the reason being that there was a problem with getting an age classification from the council , when I spoke to the council they were very vague about the whole situation. I had intended to go up to the festival with my team and publicist to promote the film ,but now there’s not much point”.
The film is an experimental documentary looking at Gender and interviews Philip Salon, French performance artist Thierry Alexandre and transgender woman Sapphire.
