In its relentless pursuit to share valuable and meaningful information with a larger audience, Relecura has embarked upon a journey that involves sharing of key patenting and technological trends in 2022 on social media platforms. The graphical data was generated with the help of its core patent search and analytics tool, the Enterprise Web Tool. Preliminary data reveals that 2022 saw a six percent decrease in the number of patents published compared to 2021.

Essentially, Relecura welcomed the new year with several graphical representations, the first of which featured the number of patents published in the top 10 countries globally, with China leading the pack. From countries, the company moved to the top 10 organizations publishing patents in 2022 (Not clear). It was found that Samsung has been the undisputed leader, followed by Huawei. It interesting that Samsung invested heavily in Electric Elements - Semiconductor Devices, more so than other critical technologies in 2022.

The pattern of assignment transactions occurring in 2022 was the next area of focus. This section was covered in two parts: assignors and assignees. In other words, the top organizations that transferred the ownership rights of specific patents (assignors) to another set of companies (assignees) were represented by the graphical data. Relecura’s data revealed that Intel had handed over the proprietary rights of a substantial portion of its patents, with Facebook next in line. Likewise, for the second part of the data representation featuring the assignees that received the patent portfolios, Tahoe Research Ltd. was at the top of the list. The second place went to Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC. In this context, it is found that among the technologies that were passed on from assignors to assignees, Digital Data Transmission was the most sought-after one.

Last but not least, Relecura brought out the patents that underwent litigation in 2022 and the organizations they were associated with. PPC Broadband was way ahead of Amphenol in this area.

Sharing snippets of crucial information on the patenting trends in 2022, using Relecura’s AI-based tools, is how the organization stays relevant and ahead of its competitors. For more information on the patenting trends shared here, visit us at https://relecura.com/blog/.
