Westminster, CA – Get ready for a riotous good time as the Rose Center Theater proudly presents the Broadway hit Something Rotten! running June 27 – July 20, 2025, in Westminster, California. This side-splitting musical comedy brings together Shakespearean satire, showbiz spectacle, and musical madness in a Renaissance setting that’s anything but traditional.
Written by John O’Farrell and Karey Kirkpatrick with music by Grammy Award-winner Wayne Kirkpatrick, Something Rotten! follows brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom as they attempt to beat Shakespeare at his own game—by writing the world’s first musical. What ensues is a hilarious journey filled with mistaken prophecy, over-the-top performances, and nonstop laughs.
Performances take place Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM, with a special Gala Performance on Saturday, June 28 at 6:30 PM, featuring a pre-show reception with food, drinks, and photo ops.
Tim Nelson, the Rose Center Theater's Managing Artistic Director, brings together a talented cast of local performers for a full-scale production filled with dazzling costumes, big dance numbers, and infectious Broadway energy. “This is one of the funniest musicals of the last decade,” says Nelson. “It’s a love letter to the theater and a brilliant parody rolled into one.”
Whether you're a Shakespeare fan or a musical theater junkie, Something Rotten! is a must-see summer production that promises something for everyone—wit, heart, and show-stopping performances.
