Blizzard will no longer show wow subscriber number

Every three months, Blizzard typically announces World of Warcraft subscriber numbers in its quarterly earnings report, but this practice was being disappearing since November 3 when the latest report was announced. The company has confirmed that this week's report of 5.5 million (down slightly from 5.6 million in Q2) subscribers is their last time to show those numbers. Instead, Activision Blizzard will use other “engagement” metrics to show out the health of WoW.
"Note that this is the last quarter that we plan to provide subscriber numbers," the company said. "There are other metrics that are better indicators of the overall Blizzard business performance."
