Different types of Industrial ventilators

Whereas both industrial panel fans as well as duct fans are used to ventilate the industrial processes during manufacture, each type of fan has a distinct function that cannot be replaced by the other.

The most important difference between industrial panel fans and the domestic variety is that industrial panel fans are built to last long and function for long periods of time. Hence, delicate plastic materials or thin sheets of metal will not do. Most industrial panel fans are made of steel as they need to be really hard-wearing. They have strong tubular frames on which the panel fans are mounted.
The motors of the panel fans run smoothly on ball-bearings which are sealed. This is to ensure that the heavy duty motors do not make a loud whirring sound that can be quite disturbing. The belts of the motor are also often adjustable to ensure optimum speed. Another important feature of Industrial Panel Fans is the pillow block bearings.
Industrial panel fans panel fans may not be fancy to look at but they usually have a good quality enamel finish so that they look good and can resist wear and tear in an industrial atmosphere. The propellers are also made of steel to make them strong and long lasting.
As opposed to industrial panel fans, duct fans are also industrial fans that are fitted in a closed environment to expel chemical fumes and gases that are produced in a manufacturing process. These duct fans are used in hazardous places such as booths used for spray painting etc. Since duct fans are not continuously used, they usually have aluminum propellers that are much lighter than steel ones. Duct fans can be used most effectively in a clean and dry environment up to an ambient temperature of 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Belts and sheaves of duct fans are protected in an air-tight covering so that they are not affected by the chemical fumes and gases that are emanated from the process.
Special industrial duct fans are available for use in high humid conditions. All the parts of such duct fans are protected from moisture and grime so that they function at their optimum capacity without any problems. Some duct fans are specially made to withstand very high or very low temperatures and function well giving optimum output. These Duct Fans have specially constructed washers, well protected shaft, heavy duty and high temperature bearings.
Industrial fan manufacturers have several models of both these types of industrial ventilators; panel fans and duct fans. Another variety of industrial fans is the roof ventilator which is installed on the roof of the location of the industrial; process. All these industrial appliances help to maintain optimum conditions in the industrial manufacturing process.
