Siborg Systems Inc. announced the LCR-Reader family of multimeters in 2014 with the flagship LCR-Reader device as a budget substitute for the world renowned Smart Tweezers LCR-meter. Siborg will begin showing at DMEMS Del Mar Electronics and Manufacturing Show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego, California, on May 4th and 5th. DMEMS is a design and manufacturing show as well as electronics and electrical goods. The show combines exhibits and seminars.

EDS Electronic Distribution Show and Leadership Summit runs from May 10th to 13th in Las Vegas. The summit brings together the movers, shakers and brightest minds that electronic component manufacturers, distributors and representatives have to offer.

From May 6th-19th Siborg will be in Ottawa, Canada at the International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference. IMTC is the flagship conference of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society and is dedicated to advances in measurement methodologies, measurement systems, instrumentation and sensors in all areas of science and technology.

The line of LCR-Reader [www.LCR-Reader.com] multimeters combines a set of gold-plated tweezers with a lightweight multimeter. When the device is in contact with a component, LCR-Reader will automatically determine the type of component and best test parameters to use. All measurement values, including component type, measurement mode, test frequency and ESR value are instantly available on the built-in display. Since 2014, Siborg has released five models.

The namesake LCR-Reader offers users the basics: automatic LCR and ESR measurements with just a touch of the tips to a component, 0.5% basic accuracy and the ability to select the test mode.

LCR-Reader-MPA Bluetooth offers the same functionality as MPA but with the added ability to remotely record measurement values over Bluetooth to Windows and Android devices. When connected to the companion program or app, MPA sends the test values and parameters to the program where the values can then be exported into spreadsheets or databases. This is an exceptional feature for quality control, quickly identifying and testing components while simultaneously recording the resulting values.

The newest device is the LCR-Reader-R2 [https://www.lcr-reader.com/r2.html]. Based on the MPA, the R2 offers new upgrades such as the ability to test with 250 kHz test frequency and Analog Signature Analysis. The Analog Signature Analysis feature is a troubleshooting technique that uses an AC sine wave across two points of an electronic component or circuit, allowing the user to determine the health of the test board or component. This model has a 0.1% basic accuracy and the ability to switch the test signal source resistance from 100 Ohms to 1.4 Ohms allowing for higher accuracy while measuring small resistance. Unlike MPA, this model does not include the frequency meter, oscilloscope or AC/DC current and voltage measurements.
