laparoscopic surgery
Laparoscopy or laparoscopic surgical procedure is a minimally invasive procedure done either to diagnose an underlying pathology or to remove a pathological or diseased body part or organ under complete general anesthesia.
In this process, a minor incision is made in the abdomen and very light and narrow tubes with cameras at the front are inserted into the body to look at the organs to check and diagnose the underlying problem within the body. During this procedure, the patient is kept in the lithotomic position. The camera is connected with computer screen so as to let the doctor see and comprehend. Sometimes two additional incisions are also made in case of any surgical instruments are to be introduced inside the body.
Some medications are usually altered before the laparoscopic surgery. These medications include blood thinners, other anticoagulants, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), vitamin K and any dietary supplements.
