[Dubai, UAE, October 12, 2022] At HUAWEI CONNECT 2022 in Dubai, Leon Wang, Vice President of Huawei's Data Communication Product Line, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Intelligent Cloud-Network, Unleashing Industry Digital Productivity". In the speech, Leon Wang shed light on how Huawei's Intelligent Cloud-Network Solution further improves industry customer experience from three dimensions — easy, agile, and simplified — by continuously building up capabilities in CloudFabric, CloudWAN, and CloudCampus.
A series of flagship products were also unveiled, including the hyper-converged small/midsize branch gateway NetEngine AR5710, industry's first enterprise-class Wi-Fi 7 AP AirEngine 8771-X1T, 400G-ready campus core switch CloudEngine S16700, and ultra-compact, high-density universal-service aggregation router NetEngine 8000 F8. With all of these new offerings, Huawei aims to help lay a solid data foundation to further unleash digital productivity.

As highlighted in Leon Wang's speech, core services across various industries are undergoing digital transformation, in turn demanding more of networks. For example, as the financial sector moves toward Bank 4.0, bimodal (stable + agile) services coexist, driving the migration of financial service systems to multi-clouds and hybrid clouds. When it comes to the public service sector, digital transformation involves smooth flow of data across functional departments and requires services to be transported in a unified manner. In the manufacturing and energy sectors, hundreds of types of sensors need to connect to the network, resulting in orders-of-magnitude higher network complexity.
In response, Huawei comprehensively upgraded its Intelligent Cloud-Network Solution from three dimensions — easy, agile, and simplified — to further enhance service experience for industry customers. To elaborate, Huawei continuously built up capabilities in CloudFabric, CloudWAN, and CloudCampus, and unveiled a series of innovative and differentiated products, including:
• Huawei NetEngine AR5710 is a hyper-converged gateway for small and midsize branches. It integrates four major functions — switching, routing, security, and SD-WAN — and adds the security policy group feature to implement more fine-grained security management. Another stand-out feature is the end-to-end visibility of application transmission quality.
• Huawei NetEngine 8000 F8 is an ultra-compact, high-density universal-service aggregation router. It comes with eight service slots and adopts an innovative parent-child card design, supporting a maximum of 32 high-speed physical interface cards (PICs). With a 25% improvement, NetEngine 8000 F8 performance reaches 2 Tbps, which can easily scale to 6.4 Tbps in the future. This product also stands out with forwarding-control separation and adopts independent switching and routing units (SRUs) as well as redundancy design for fan and power modules. Such a high reliability design ensures always-on user services.
• Huawei AirEngine 8771-X1T, a first-of-its-kind Wi-Fi 7 AP, features a record high bandwidth of 18.67 Gbps and ultra-low latency of less than 5 ms. It is also packed with many innovative technologies. For example, the third radio supports on-demand switching between 5 GHz and 6 GHz, and the built-in dynamic-zoom smart antennas enable auto-adaptation to omnidirectional or high-density scenarios to fully accommodate tidal terminal access. This AP also supports Huawei's innovative optical-electrical PoE technology.
• Huawei's flagship core switch CloudEngine S16700 delivers industry-leading performance and facilitates smooth evolution from 10GE and 40GE to 100GE and even 400GE ports. It offers 4 times higher bandwidth per slot than the industry average, and adopts an innovative dual-channel power supply design to save 50% power supply space. These strengths make the switch an ideal choice for reducing the number of devices at the core layer, simplifying network management, and saving costs for equipment room electricity, transmission facilities, and air conditioners.
