More than 100 billion highly addictive opioid pills are prescribed in hospitals and by doctors to relieve pain over just 9 years. This exposes the person to a high chance of addiction, being hooked on the consumption of drugs. This information released by the Federal Drug Agency of the United States, reveals the opioid crisis.

These pain-relieving pills are manufactured by pharmaceutical corporations. An example is oxycodone, a highly addictive drug like heroin, it affects the nervous system in the same way to block pain and give the brain a feeling of pleasure. Drugs like this are called opioids. They have opium components, and among them are hydrocodone, meperidine and others.

Opioids produce a short and very addictive euphoria. If used for a long time, the body adapts and you need increasing doses to have the same sensations and effects. If you stop using it,the symptoms of drug withdrawal are extreme. Like any drug, they only mask the pain but do not cure it.

"People who use drugs don't always perceive the real world that is in front of them." L. Ron Hubbard.
