The Councilman from District 5 of the City of Tampa recognized the Volunteer Ministers of the Church of Scientology for their work in the community of Tampa Bay and beyond in honor of World Humanitarian Day.

World Humanitarian Day was celebrated at the Church of Scientology on Tuesday 20 August. The focus this year in Tampa was on those who respond to disasters in order to help us all. There was a very informative talk given by Ted Williams of the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Emergency Operations Center, covering the extensive duties and training handled by The Hillsborough responders.

Then there was a presentation of a plaque honoring the work of the Volunteer Ministers of the Church of Scientology, and the Churches of Scientology Disaster Response, from Councilman Orlando Gudes . It reads, "This award is presented to the Volunteer Ministers of the Church of Scientology on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day2019, in recognition of their efforts to serve the Tampa community and improve the quality of life for all within it." The award was received by Judy Fargerman of the Church, and shared with the VMs.

There are more community actions planned for the future.
