1. On models without a replacement indicator light, apply the month sticker to the new cartridge and mark your calendar to remind you to replace the filter after six months.
2. Remove old filter by rotating cap about 1/4 turn counter-clockwise. Pull the old filter cartridge out.
3. Remove the cartridge grille cap by sliding it off the end of the old cartridge.
4. Slide the cartridge grille cap onto the new cartridge.
5. With the new cartridge cap in the vertical position, insert the new filter cartridge into the base grille.
6. Rotate the cap clockwise to a horizontal position.
7. Run water from the dispenser for 6-8minutes(about 3-4 gallons) to clear the system and prevent sputtering.
9. On models with a replacement indicator light, press and hold the RESET WATER FILTER PAD on the dispenser.
Make sure that you are actually bought the water filter model 4396508, 4396510, which you can confirm according to the label of the filter housing. If not, you may need to exchange or purchase a new one.
