Learning to Place the Right Bets in Greyhound Racing In NSW Can Be Rewarding

Posted June 28, 2022 by thedogsaustralia

Greyhound racing has been a popular sporting event. However, not everybody knows how to place the right bets. Punters can get rewarding outcomes by learning how to place the bets appropriately.

Over the years, greyhound racing has gained much popularity around the world. In Australia, greyhound owners, trainers, and sporting enthusiasts have also made it a popular sport. This racing event also allows individuals interested in placing their bets on potential racers to encourage this sport like any other. Greyhound racing in NSW has also seen several such magnificent events being organised.
Different types of bets
#Win
This bet type is simple and popular. Pick the participating runner you think will win the greyhound racing event!
#Place
Depending on the number of runners in the race, you are betting on your greyhound to finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a race. You will always see the Place odds shown to the right of the win odds. Note, if you bet on a greyhound to Place and they win the race, you will receive the Place bet odds, not the Win bet odds. The number of runners in a race will determine if you receive a place dividend; they are as follows:
8 runners = 3 dividends - 1st, 2nd, 3rd
5-7 runners - 2 dividends - 1st and 2nd
4 or fewer runners - 1 dividend - WIN ONLY - no place pool or option.
#Trifecta
Pick the greyhounds you think will finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
#Quinella
The Quinella bet requires you to pick the two greyhounds that will finish 1st or 2nd in a race, in any order.
#Exacta
Like the Quinella, you must pick the two greyhounds that will finish 1st or 2nd in a race. However, the difference is that you must precisely determine the finishing order.
#First 4
For the First 4, you must pick the greyhounds that will finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in a race in the correct order.
#Quaddie
The Quaddie requires you to pick the winners of four races set out by TAB Sportsbet for you to collect a dividend. Due to the nature of the bet and the fact that it is difficult to select four winners, most of the time, the Quaddie dividends are lucrative.
#Fixed Odds
Pre-post Fixed Odds betting (open a few days and sometimes weeks in advance) is offered on all major races throughout the year. At the same time, most daily meetings carry Fixed Odds, with betting opening 10 minutes before each race.
