The moment you start workouts as part of your bodybuilding you see that you have gained some weight. There is nothing to be alarmed about because of this because it is natural to gain weight when you work out. After you get into bodybuilding a little more intensely you can then go for weight loss. What is important that both gaining and losing weight should be controlled.

Why does one gain weight when they start working out? When weight training is started mass is added to the muscles and this causes weight gain. So gaining weight is actually good for you because you are adding to the muscles and also getting rid of fat from your body. Hence, you will find that the weighing scale is tilting towards more but you have a more shapely body. But it is important to eat food that is nutritious so that you don’t add fat to your body. Then your body will have a strange shape – muscular and yet flabby.

Weight loss during bodybuilding happens after you are into workouts for a while. Since there is an upper limit to the mass that can be added to the muscles you start losing weight when this level is reached. When you work out you lose fat and this causes you to lose your weight. However, it is important that you lose your weight within limits. Otherwise you will look skinny. Moreover, if you lose too much weight the body will not be able to do more metabolism and this will hamper muscle growth.

Whether you gain weight during bodybuilding or go through weight loss there is nothing to be alarmed about. When you eat you add calories to the body and when you work out you shed those calories. As long as there is a balance between the input and output of calories you should be alright. So, what is important for you is to measure the calories that you are consuming when you are eating. As you start to measure you may be surprised to see that you are adding more or less calories than what you thought. If you are adding more then you might want to reduce the carbohydrate and fat part of your food. If you are losing more then you may want to add more carbs and fat to your food.

For any bodybuilder it is important to get into the habit of a healthy diet. As mentioned before whether they gain weight or go through weight loss in a controlled manner it doesn't matter. What is important is that the body has enough energy to withstand the intense weight and cardio training routines. Proper food and dietary supplements enhance the energy level of the body and help bodybuilders to do more intense workouts.

So, don’t worry when you gain weight or go through weight loss and you don’t feel out of shape or out of breath. Eat well and exercise well and this will be enough to have a great and fit body.
