Paperbags Kenya Ltd unveiled a new range of bags for whole sale customers aiming cost reduction as well as environmental compliance.

Thanks to stricter green standards in Kenya, the paper bags industry is thriving as plastic as packaging material is getting phased out.

According to the MD, the end customers of bags in the retail business are undergoing a paradigm shift. Business owners are sending big money in making sure that all customers walking past checkout terminals are carrying bags.

The MD said there was a big response for Paper Bags Wholesale from super markets who want to move into paper bags to avoid unnecessary costs. He said buying of wholesale paper ensures better costs and quality.

There was a time retailers used to pitch for plastic bags citing they were less expensive on a per bag basis. The fact is –the MD pointed out, “there is a cost loss as paper sacks do not require the retailer to give more bags per customer.”
Also, paper sacks pose no threat to environment as paper is easily biodegradable.

He noted the bags will not require people to many years in a landfill as paper bags are highly recyclable than plastics. Considering many cities or townships do not have depositories for recycling plastic sacks, he said, paper bags are filling that shortcoming posed by plastic bags.

The MD also said custom made bags are offered, which got handles. They are one of the more durable types of paper bag and serve customers well.

The MD said paper bags are being made a tool for promoting brand equity and for carrying the retailer’s message to enhance customer loyalty.
