As a proudly physician-owned independent medical practice, TONE Dermatology delivers exemplary and quality medical services to every patient, starting with longer consultation sessions during which real interest is shown in each case

TONE Dermatology, an independent private practice based on the vibrant south side of Chicago, has been operational since 2020. The founder, Dr Caroline Robinson is an award-winning dermatologist, a renowned academic and a philanthropist of note. Highly respected amongst peers and colleagues for innovative research in the field of ethnic dermatology, she serves tirelessly as an advocate for diversity in dermatology.
According to Dr Caroline Robinson, MD, FAAD, the founder and owner of TONE Dermatology, “The complex field of Dermatology has a responsibility to recognize the change and integration taking place in communities in our diverse country daily, affecting all aspects of society. Dermatologists should remain open-minded about the change and versatility of how to treat dermatological conditions that manifest in different skin types. A great educational opportunity presents itself when looking at common dermatology conditions across different skin types, by gaining a full understanding of the underlying differences and bespoke treatments relevant to each skin type. The South Side is diverse and complex. At TONE Dermatology we want to implement structures that look beyond disparities, working toward comprehensive wellness of the entire community.”
TONE Dermatology has a vision to empower people to feel good about themselves, by offering accessible and empathetic care to patients on the south side. The gaps present in medical care are still prevalent and disparities should be removed. The doctor-patient relationship is critical, and the friendly approach to medical care is showing positive results.
Quality dermatological services are available at TONE Dermatology, with specialized staff spending quality time with each patient, gaining insight into the core of the problem. This enables physicians to make informed medical decisions regarding the restoration of health in a responsible manner.
Preventative medicine and innovative treatment plans are crucial for the sustainability of the practice, striving to source cost-effective medication for patients, without compromising on quality. All major credit cards, as well as HSA and FSA, are accepted. Patients can book consultations online via the user-friendly website. Insurance should cover the prescribed medication and lab tests. Despite being a private practice, consultation fees remain competitive. The cost of the comprehensive range of aesthetic procedures is directly related to the services delivered.
TONE Dermatology is built on five pillars, namely the curiosity for learning, resilience, collaboration, inclusivity and empathy. With the focus on pro bono work, large amounts of skin care products are donated annually to shelters on the south side of Chicago, to restore the worthiness of the inhabitants.
The cultural diversity on the south side allows TONE Dermatology to reach a section of society that has been sidetracked regarding skin disorders, which is mainly frowned upon by the community.
A carefully curated portfolio of medically certified skin care products is available at TONE Dermatology in Chicago, as well as online, with education in skincare provided by well-trained clinicians. During these training sessions, bespoke skincare programs are developed, suitable for specific individual needs.
