Light a Candle, Honor a Life Lost to Overdose

The Spokane Regional Opioid Task Force invites you to create a lantern in memory of those who have lost their lives to overdose in Spokane County.

This event will take place 11 am to 5 pm on Friday, August 23rd at three locations:

• North Side: Yoke’s on 210 E Foothills Drive
• Downtown: Riverfront Park near the Loof Carousel
• Spokane Valley: Yoke’s on 9329 East Montgomery

All supplies will be provided on site.

The lanterns will then be displayed the evening of August 31st, International Overdose Awareness Day in Downtown Spokane at Huntington Park, next to City Hall and across the street from Riverpark Square.

Spokane Regional Opioid Task Force members are staging these events to remind the community of the humanity of those lost to overdose and the far-ranging impacts on friends, families and our community.

"As someone who has lost a loved one to overdose, we want to give comfort to those who have lost a loved one, and prevent anyone else from experiencing that heartache" said Amanda Dugger, an organizer from the Spokane Regional Opioid Task Force
