Raisoni College of Engineering and Management, Wagholi which recently got the status of autonomy for the period 2016-17 to 2022-23 from University Grants Commission. The institute will now be able to offer B.Tech and M.Tech degrees to Engineering students and design its own curriculum for various courses.
G.H.R.C.E.M (G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management) is the fifth autonomous college of Engineering in Pune, however it is important to understand that B.Tech and M.Tech degrees awarded by the institute will be affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University with a mention of the name G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering & Management on the Degree Certificate.
The status of autonomous college will give G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management the authority and freedom to design multidisciplinary courses according to current trends in the industry, freedom to design innovative methods of teaching, evaluation, frequent updates to syllabus etc. The institute has established an independent board of studies committee for designing curriculum and examination pattern.
In addition to that, the status of an autonomous college will give students of G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management a much better infrastructure to make innovations. Students and faculty will be able to quickly respond to social needs and industries.

Dr Preeti Bajaj- Director GHRCE- flagship Institute of Raisoni said it’s the beginning to move one step ahead on the path of excellence. She further said, as per UGC 10% of well performing colleges in the country shall be autonomous although it was not taking momentum but now technical education is moving and many colleges are coming forward for autonomy.
GHRCE is third college in the state and GHRCEM is fifth college in pune. RGI is first group in central India to have two colleges coveted under autonomy. The innovations in academics, Research, all round development of the student, CBCS, one go autonomy, Student centric approach from exam oriented approach, modern teaching learning shall be highlights of the system. The governing body, academic council and BOS has representation from IIT and other premier institutions of the country and has strong Industry component.
Strengthening industry bond, thrust on make in India, start up India and skill based India all shall be primarily focused in the proposed schemes.

Our institute has got the status of an autonomous college in merely 10 years, hence it is one of the youngest college to achieve such a status, Dr. R.S. Bichkar added.’’
