The institute offers comprehensive aged care courses to meet Australia's rising demand for aged care workers amid a growing elderly population.

Sydney, NSW (prfree.org), June 17, 2024 - With an increase in aging population in Australia, the demand for aged care workers have risen rapidly in the recent times. Fortunately, Vigil Training College, one of the renowned educational institutions in Parramatta, has been offering comprehensive aged care course for those aiming to enter this rewarding career path. With the aging demographic expanding rapidly, now is the moment to seize the opportunity and consider a career in the aged care sector.
Vigil Training College recognises this demand and offers two aged care courses – Certificate 3 in aged care and Certificate IV in Ageing Support. While the former is provided both online and in class, the latter is a self-paced online course.
A spokesperson for the institute said, “The coming decade will see a high demand for aged care workers to take care of our rapidly ageing population. When people age, their needs often change. But the need for companionship, caring, and belonging will never change. For care providers, every day is a chance to give loyal care and support to those who are in need of a helping hand. If you are interested in this field, there are more and more positions opening up everywhere.”
According to recent studies, over 15% of the population today are aged over 65s and by 2044, 1 in 5 Australians will be aged over 65. The reasons for this are twofold: First, the remarkable increase in life expectancy thanks to advancements in healthcare. And second, the aged care workforce itself is facing its aging challenges, with half expected to retire in the next fifteen years. This situation has created a pressing need for a new generation of aged care professionals to step forward. The average national salaries in the aged care sector are expected to be between $52,984 and $63,083 a year.
As a registered Australian Vocational Education Organisation, Vigil Training College has been offering a multitude of training courses for people working in various sectors including security, first aid, hospitality, construction, business, aged care course online, and more. Since 2014, they are dedicated to delivering quality education to employees.
While there are no formal pre-requisites for this aged care course Sydney, the candidate might need to do an LLN (Language, Literacy & Numeracy) Test, or successfully completed High School Certificate (Year 12) at an Australian Senior Secondary School, or Vocation Education Training (VET) Certificate IV or above, or Bachelor’s degree or above.
“Our staff are highly experienced and industry veteran. We focus on providing you strong foundation by delivering our courses with hands-on practical experience. When you study with Vigil Training College, you gain the necessary skills and knowledge to help you gain employment and outshine in your workplace,” concluded the spokesperson.
