decisions on which the future depends!

The countries of the Islamic World are opening up new opportunities for economic and business development in partnership with Russia.

KazanForum-2024 will be held on 14-19 May 2024 in Russia, Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan, Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre.

There will participate leading international Islamic experts and practitioners in the field of economics and finance. In 2023, KazanForum gathered more than 16,000 participants (including 950 speakers) from 80 countries, including 57 states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, representing more than 2 billion inhabitants of the Earth. Among the guests and experts: representatives of international organisations, national diplomatic missions, Islamic clergy, public authorities and financial institutions, members of parliaments, leading investors and entrepreneurs, CEOs and representatives of large international businesses. The event was covered by more than 700 media representatives.

The aim of KazanForum 2024 is strengthening trade and economic, scientific and technical, educational, social and cultural ties between the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation countries and the regions of the Russian Federation, as well as promoting the development of Islamic financial system institutions in Russia and the world. The results of the Forum - expertise and decisions on the implementation of mutually beneficial joint international projects and programmes.

Key topics of discussion at KazanForum include Islamic finance, halal industry, investments, industry, logistics, tourism, technology, international cooperation, diplomacy, ESG principles, small and medium-sized businesses, medicine, sports and others. One of the important topics of the Forum in 2023 was the construction of the North-South international transport corridor, which opens up new opportunities for the countries of the Islamic world to export Russian agricultural and halal products.

In accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, since 2023 KazanForum has received federal status and is among the three largest in terms of the number of participants and importance of international economic forums held annually in Russia, along with the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

The organisers of KazanForum-2024 spoke about the upcoming event:

Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation: «KazanForum 2023 aroused high interest: more than 16,000 people from 80 countries attended. The geography of the represented countries was the widest - the CIS, Middle East, Africa, South and Southeast Asia. A record number of events - about 200 - took place at the Forum's venues. They resulted in the conclusion of more than 130 agreements. As a result of the forum, we were once again convinced of the deep understanding of Russia's position and openness to constructive co-operation on the part of our colleagues from Islamic countries. We will hold the next KazanForum on 14-19 May 2024».

Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Deputy Chairman of the KazanForum Federal Organising Committee: «In 2024, the event will be held for the 15th time. The International Economic Forum of Russia and OIC countries is intended to show Russia's openness and readiness for dialogue within the framework of developing cooperation in trade relations, foreign direct investment, and discussing the functioning of the Islamic financial system».

Talia Minullina, member of the Federal Organising Committee, Head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan: «We propose to keep our annual economic and cultural events: the meeting of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, the International Forum of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Halal Fair, and the Fashion Festival. Sessions devoted to the North-South transport corridor, oil and gas chemical industry, medical halal tourism; bilateral country sessions, for example, between Russia and Azerbaijan, Russia and Malaysia, have become extremely popular. A joint session with OPEC, the international organisation of oil exporting countries, is under consideration. In addition, it is proposed to strengthen the topics on infrastructure, in particular construction and real estate, and personnel training».

According to KazanForum traditions, special events for the media will be held, where heads of national news agencies of the OIC countries and the Russian Federation, heads of major broadcasting corporations will take part.

The KazanForum 2024 programme will also include a business exhibition Russia Halal Expo with the presentation of halal products, services, investment and infrastructure projects.

The cultural programme will be no less intense. Guests of KazanForum 2024 will be able to attend: festive events dedicated to the day when Islam was adopted by the Volga Bulgaria (on the territory of the modern Republic of Tatarstan) - «Izge Bolgar zhyeny»; a hockey match of the Islamic Countries Hockey Development Association, as well as UNESCO cultural heritage sites - sightseeing tours:
▪ to the ancient city of Bolgar,
▪ to the island-town of Sviyazhsk,
▪ to the V.P. Engelhardt Astronomical Observatory,
▪ the city of Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan.
