Scott Rodgers began selling real estate in Peoria, Illinois, in 2001. “The median sale price of 2015 is $132,129, slightly down from last year’s $133,618 average,” Rodgers explained. “Something to keep in mind is this is only a drop of $125. We are also down on number of homes sold in 2015 with 469 being sold compared to the 489 sold in 2014, an average of four percent.”

Rodgers also explained that the average days a home is on the market has improved since last year, with 97 days being the average in 2014 and 88 days being the current average in 2015, showing a nine percent improvement. Rodgers went on to explain the average number of properties for sale has decreased this year, but overall stayed about the same, with only a 36 home difference.

“30 year interest rates have also dropped quite a bit, actually 13.6 percent less than they were in 2014,” Rodgers said. “2015 is also seeing percentage decrease for 15 year interest rates at 10.6 percent less than 2014.”
