There are two versions of keyless ignition that are being offered now. You may choose to have remote start or push button start. Both are great alternatives to a keyed ignition. Remote start involves a small remote that can be easily attached to your key ring. You will be able to start the car’s ignition within a twenty foot radius. The remote wave signals are even able to go through walls. Therefore, if you are inside your home, you can start the car on the driveway. You may be wondering how safe this really is. Well, each remote comes with at least four buttons.

One is to start the car, two are for locking and unlocking the doors and the last is for a car alarm. This way, you may have started your car, but the doors are still locked until you decide to unlock them. Remote start allows you to warm the car before you get in on a cold day. Or maybe you want to start the air conditioner on a warm day. These are all possible now, as long as your air is set to the right temperature before hand.

The second version of keyless entry is push button start. You will never have to worry about losing your keys again. As long as you have the small key fob in your coat pocket, wallet or purse, you can unlock your doors. Once you have reached your vehicle, you will simply push the small button on your door handle. The car will instantly unlock the doors as long as the key fob is near.

Once inside the car, you simply make sure the car is in park, press on the break peddle, and push the button at the ignition site. Once the small light turns green, you are ready to start driving. In order to turn off your ignition you must place the car in park with your foot on the break and press the button at the ignition site again. The light will then turn from green to red to signify that the car has been turned off.
