Protect and revitalize a woman’s skin from Lorna Vanderhaeghe GLA Borage Oil

GLA (gamma linolenic acid) is found in borage oil (20 to 24%) and to a lesser extent evening primrose oil (8 to 10%). GLA is not found in food in high enough quantities to maintain our needs through diet alone.

Fatty acids are good fats for optimal health. To make matters worse when an enzyme in the body is impaired we can't make the good fats GLA, EPA or DHA. These problems can be overcome by eating fish or fish oils that contain EPA and DHA but when it comes to GLA the only way to get this important fatty acid is to take it in a nutritional supplement.

Lorna Vanderhaeghe GLA Borage Oil is formulated to help protect and revitalize a woman’s skin as well as other womanly issues. GLA Borage Oil is a Vegetarian friendly formula designed by Lorna Vanderhaeghe to help women enjoy their lives and stop the embarrassment caused by skin problems and/or pain.

GLA Borage Oil ensures beautiful, smooth, glowing skin, it tries to help treat skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis while it also alleviates breast and period pains. GLA Borage Oil from Lorna Vanderhaeghe contains 1000mg of GLA from Canadian Borage Seeds.

Borage oil contains gamma-linolenic acid, an omega 6 essential fatty acid. “Essential” means that the body does not produce the fatty acids on its own and therefore they must be taken in through the diet. Your body uses GLA to produce hormone-like substances (eicosanoids) that support cardiovascular health. GLA also helps maintain cholesterol levels because healthy fats build HDL cholesterol.

Borage seed oil contains a significantly higher concentration of GLA than other GLA supplements. Ensure your borage supplement is not processed with heat because it damages the acids and creates free radicals. Some of the damaged fats turn into trans-fatty acids, which are well known for their promotion of cardiovascular disease. Refrigerate all liquid borage supplements and keep capsules away from heat because they can become rancid.
