Organizing a place or a room may be a cumbersome thing for many people even for me. But when it's about a kitchen, I think we all want it to be fully organised. Indian kitchens have completely changed. An Indian kitchen design has come a long way from firewood chulah times to modular facelift.
Modular kitchen fittings are a solution to so many worrying issues we have to face in the cooking space. This modern kitchen design solution will not only provide a kitchen with a classic and chic look but also harmonises, organises and helps in bringing full utilisation of space.
Two rules that should be followed while designing a kitchen are:
1) keep things accessible and simple.
2) keep the slabs and countertops open and clean.
Before you trod upon the managing and organising journey, prepare a mental image and divide your kitchen into parts- for serving dishes, cooking utensils, stove area, spices, pulses and spices etc. Let's look at how the sections can be organised using the modular fitting ways available in markets these days.

1) Bring it around a gas stove, or induction cooktops:
This is the portion that should be considered first, and all the other things can be organised according to it. Keep the things near that are used on a day to day basis. For instance- mixing bowls, stew pots and pans, pressure cookers etc. All these should be put together in one area, and an ideal place would be revolving racks and rectangle drawers with depth or sliding shelves.

2) Storage of the kitchenware according to its usage:
on the lower shelves that are reachable places, things that are put to use every day and as you go up on the cabinets, stack the infrequently used kitchenware or items.

3) Drawers with steel or wire baskets:
place everything in a drawer cabinet with wire or steel basket in it. For instance: baking dishes, moulds, microwave utensils, chocolate moulds or cookie cutters etc. Even the insides of a cabinet door could be used with racks to put tops or lids. They are good for utilising space.

4) Organisers in cutlery drawers:
Proper divisions in the cutlery drawers should be preferred more. It is because the cutlery of different types and shapes of a house would be neatly arranged so you don't have to delve deep into the shelves or spoon holders searching desperately for the one you required.

5) Open racks or cabinet shelves:
They are perfect to create a space or corner for managing the multiple kitchen gadgets properly together, like a food processor, toaster or sandwich maker, hand blender etc. Spend your money on the appliances that could fit well in the space you have made for them. It is highly recommended that you choose same coloured appliances, this will make an artistic corner on its own in the kitchen.
