A cardiologist is a medical professional who is specialized in dealing with diseases and conditons of the cardiovascular system, including the heart and blood vessels. Amongst the services offered by a cardiologist are diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, atherosclerosis, chest pain, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, heart defects and heart attacks. For becoming a cardiologist, one must possess an MBBS degree, followed by MD in General Medicine, and DNB/DM in Cardiology.
